Oath taking ceremony during the inaugural of Dr KC Nihoshe Memorial Open Football Tournament on November 22 in Zunheboto.

ZUNHEBOTO, NOVEMBER 22 (MExN): The inaugural of Dr KC Nihoshe Memorial Open Football Tournament was held on November 22 at the District Sports Council ground in Zunheboto. The event was organized by the Trojans Club in memory of the late Dr KC Nihoshe, a passionate supporter of sports, particularly football.
Delivering the welcome address, Heto N Yepthomi, son of the late Dr Nihoshe emphasized that the tournament was created in loving memory of their father, who cherished football. The family, he noted, had decided to organize and sponsor the event as a tribute to his legacy.

The presidential address was delivered by Hokato Yepthomi, who highlighted the growing significance of football as a career path for many young athletes. He encouraged the participants to stay focused and dedicated, emphasizing that although they may start at a local level, hard work and commitment could propel them to represent their district, state, and even the nation on international platforms.
Rev Kughato Chophy, ES of the SBAK Nito Mount, dedicated the tournament followed by a special presentation from Lino N Achumi. The event also featured an oath-taking ceremony led by Sports Secretary Nikato H Zhimomi, followed by the official declaration of the tournament by Rev Kughato Chophy.

According to the Trojans Club president, the tournament is scheduled to last six days, with 12 local clubs competing for the coveted trophy.
