NEW DELHI, OCTOBER 28 (MExN): World Human Rights Protection Commission (WHRPC) has awarded the prestigious Honorary Doctorate & Lifetime National Membership to Dr Kedise Pucho, based on his meritorious scholarly work experience, service & profession in rural development & women empowerment.

The award was conferred during an event organised by the Ministry of Cooperate Affairs, Govt. of India & Govt. of USA, State of New York on October 28 in New Delhi.

Dr Pucho obtained PhD degree from School of International Studies (Pol. Geo), Jawaharlal Nerhu University (JNU) New Delhi. Dr Kedise Pucho, presently the Principal of ETC Phek, SIRD Department is active in research work in the field of rural development and women transformation in Naga society.  

Dr Pucho attended numerous training programmes in National levels and has been selected as Roster of Experts in Rural Development 2003' by the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD), Hyderabad. He received award of Research Board Advisors 2003' from American Biographical Institute, North Caroline. He has been students’ research supervisor in Indian Institute of Ecology Environment (IEE) 2008, Indian Council Social Sciences Research (ICSSR) 2009, New Delhi etc.  

He has published a number of research work and papers under SIRD including,"Role of Naga Women in Development Process,” "Re-thinking Women Oppression: The Sumi Naga Customary Law on Agrarian Structure,” "Evaluation of Women Self Help Group in Mon, Mokokchung & Phek in Nagaland," "Rural Livelihood: An Evaluation on Women Self Help Groups in the District of Kohima, Peren & Wokha in Nagaland,” "The Impact of MGNREGS on Rural Livelihood in three districts of Kohima, Mokochung & Dimapur, “"Women Livelihood Activities through Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-NRLM in Tseminyu Sub-Division of Kohima District."

Dr Pucho is also a specialist in training programmes on Direct Training Skill, Design Training, Geometric Application in Rural India, Participatory & Action, MGNREGA, Social Accountability & Social Audit, Disaster Management Plan, NIRM, Technology Transfer in the Development Programmes, Planning on Human Development, Management of Rural Drinking Water & Sanitation, Gram Panchayat Development Plan, Lab to Land Initiative, Empowerment of Women, Gender Issues, Livelihood & Skills, Risk Based Internal Audit of Rural Development Plan, Action Plan on LSDGs etc. and trained more than 15,000 stakeholders etc.

Currently Dr Pucho is pursuing two research works in Phek & Kiphire districts.
