Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Councillor, Thenusou Sekhose Yhome inaugurated a newly constructed ring well and drinking water facility in Sector C of D Block (Ward No. 6), Kohima on July 22.
Speaking at the event, Thenusou highlighted the various developmental projects undertaken in the colony and expressed gratitude to the Urban Development Department and the Municipal Affairs Department for funding the initiatives under different schemes.
Commending the quality of the works completed, she lauded the residents of the various sectors for their decision to contribute towards the future upkeep of the infrastructure. She urged the community to take ownership of the projects and ensure their proper maintenance. She also called for continued cooperation and support from the residents in bringing further development to the area.
Following the inauguration, the councillor, accompanied by leaders from the D Block Panchayat and Youth Organisation, inspected other projects implemented during her one-year tenure.
These include drainage repair works at three locations, drinking water facilities, rejuvenation of the water source at Sector D, installation of a waste bin with soak pit, construction of a footpath and footbridge for GPS D Block, footpath repairs in Sectors C and D, and improvement of a newly constructed footpath.
Meanwhile, D Block Panchayat chairman Kevi Vizo, who chaired the inaugural programme, praised Councilor Thenusou for her sincere efforts in implementing multiple developmental projects for the upliftment of the colony.
