DTF Longleng stresses on safe disposal of PPE

LONGLENG, JUNE 10 (MExN): An emergency meeting of the Longleng District Task Force was held on June 10 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng, M Shayung Phom.


The meeting discussed at length on the proper use and safe disposal of Personal Protection Equipments (PPE), informed a report from the DIPR. 


The Deputy Commissioner informed that PPE sets suspected to be used and disposed off by drivers were found near the road side at Orangkong village. He said that such practice is hazardous and called for proper awareness and instruction on safe use and disposal of PPEs. 


The DC meanwhile also acknowledged the receipt of Rs 1 lakh donated by the Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo, and thanked the organisation, churches, NGOs, civil societies, individuals and well wishers for their financial assistance and support. 


The house also discussed accommodation of returnees coming from quarantine centers in Kohima; enhancement of security in quarantine centers and identifying buildings for COVID-19 Care Hospital. The CMO’s office and Nyingching Government Middle School building were identified for COVID-19 Care Hospital. The DTF will inspect the condition of these buildings before final decision, the DIPR informed.


Meanwhile, a coordination meeting on renovation of the Changtongnyah - Longleng road was also held.


After briefing by the Deputy Commissioner and ADC, Longleng explaining the importance and poor condition of the road, the house decided to find ways and means to repair and renovate only the worst portions before the two-lane firm commences their work.


The drivers' union was entrusted to verify the locations for repairing while the Chamber of Commerce and vehicle owners will contribute stones/boulders, the district administration will provide fuel and the NGOs will supervise the work.
