DVC expresses displeasure over pasting of posters 

Darogapathar, September 12 (MExN): The Darogapathar Village Council (DVC) has expressed displeasure over the September 8 event, wherein posters and banners were put up at the private residence of a senior citizen of Darogapathar village by an organisation without any prior information or knowledge of the village council. 

The DVC chairman, K Ado Bizo and Secretary, II Jamir in a press release stated advised “any organization, society or group to kindly intimate the Village Council prior to performing any activity henceforth.” 

The council also stated that Darogapathar village has been established and recognized since 1811 and as such, is governed by a lawful authority of the Village Council, under the Nagaland Village & Area Council Act, 1978, which empowers the council to oversee Social, Legal & Administrative activities within the jurisdiction of Darogapathar Village. 

“Our village can be termed a metropolitan village as it comprises of all Naga tribes and more and is also the resident of many prominent leaders, both political and bureaucratic and as such, the council reiterates to withhold the principal of neutrality & unbiasness within our village,” it stated. 

Meanwhile, the council has entrusted the Darogapathar Youth Organisation to oversee and manage such activities within the village jurisdiction in future.
