Dimapur, May 7 (MExN): Criticizing the statements made by Home Minister Imkong L Imchen on ‘Bedrock of Naga Society’ as well as the ‘16 point agreement’ the District Youth Congress has said that the statement has drawn the light that Imkong, himself, has not been elected as per the guidelines of Indian constitution. A press note issued by the DYC media cell said that it's a shame being a Home Minister of a state to oversee the present security situation of the state and try to take credit of the hard earned peace that has been achieved solely by the FNR.
DYC further said that the works of Imkong L Imchen has shown that he is incapable of performing his duty as a Home Minster and in spite of being presently stationed in Mokokchung, there are kidnappings and threats that are happening from the anti-social elements. “This shows he is either incapable of holding his office, or that he is an encouraging spectator to the events which speaks a lot about him,” stated DYC and added that such modest and complacent stance towards the current situation shows that our Home Minister is inviting all sort of anti-social elements and gambling with the state machineries which he forgets is the property of the people.
DYC said that meanwhile, the NPF on the other hand, has been fastening on policies which they fail to explain, and asserted that NPF is soldering with fake promises which has so far made marginal progress. It also mentioned that NPF from its inception has been a gunny bag to accommodate unfulfilling promises, and that it would be incomplete on the part of congress to state that our Home Minister who has termed himself having foot-in the mouth symptom is very loud against the logical formation of Nagaland state which has given him due reorganization without which he would be incompetent in such state of affairs.
DYC also said that the NPF thinks Dr. S. C. Jamir is the cause of all the problems in the state and the nation. Going through the previous press statements made by the NPF it's hilarious that they have stated that Dr. S. C. Jamir is ‘an old statesman who is too old fashioned to be leading the people’. DYC also questions on whether the NPF think that the central leadership had no one to appoint as Governor of advanced states as Goa and Maharashtra that they appointed Dr. S. C. Jamir as Governor. “I guess the NPF thinks that Nagaland is much more advanced than Goa and Maharashtra. If the NPF really wants the people to progress why not encourage him to be a member of the assembly and be helpful to the state by being a constructive opposition, with his experience he is an asset to the state. I am sure we could have avoided the uprising that we see from the Eastern Nagas had Dr. S. C. Jamir been at the helm of powers. I would like the people to know especially the 26 A/C constituency that if the Nagas have to progress and stop certain parts of Nagaland from demanding a separate statehood due to negligence towards their development they should make the right decision. This election is for a better Nagaland or for an already sliding Nagaland to slide deeper,” stated DYC in the note.
