PHEK, OCTOBER 30 (MExN): An interactive program was organized by the District Administration of Phek in collaboration with Phek Government College, bringing together entrepreneurs from Phek Town for a discussion with Sanjeev Sanyal, Member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister on October 28.
Sanyal expressed his primary objective for visiting the district, which was to engage with local entrepreneurs and gain valuable on-the-ground insights. He aimed to understand, firsthand, the impact of existing infrastructures on businesses, whether they have been beneficial or have posed challenges. Sanyal expressed his specific interest in learning about the types of businesses operating in the district, the challenges they face, and how the central government could address these issues.
He also emphasized the importance of road connectivity for entrepreneurs and suggested the establishment of a Customs Clearance Office at Dimapur Airport to facilitate the export of products. Furthermore, Sanyal encouraged the people of the district to explore eco-tourism initiatives, including homestays, trekking, and adventure sports, and offered support for their development. He also called on Naga youths working in various parts of the country to consider forming a core group upon their return to the state, leveraging their business experience and global connections.
The program was chaired by Dr Zhokusheyi Rhakho, Assistant Professor at Phek Government College, and vote of thanks was delivered by Chetezo Akami, President of the Phek District Chamber of Commerce & Industries. The interaction session with Sanjeev Sanyal proved beneficial for the entrepreneurs.
