Eastern Academy celebrates Parents’ Day

Dimapur, October 28 (DIPR): To honour the parents of the students, Eastern Academy Higher Secondary School Diphupar celebrated Parents’ Day on October 28 in the school premises.  

Former NLA Speaker, ET Ezung, who is also the proprietor of the school, in his address observed that since time immemorial schools were built on the foundation of educating children to learn and keep learning and to plant the seeds of learning in young minds.  

“Education does not end after class 12 or after college or after acquiring degrees...it is a lifelong process for all of us,” Ezung said, reiterating that Eastern Academy also aims to show the students the hunger for learning today, tomorrow and any time in the future.  

DPRO Dimapur, Lolano Patton, speaking on behalf of the parents, lauded the school administration for declaring the first Saturday of every month as Traditional Outfit day. Through such programme, students as young as class 2 learns about the diversity and cultural heritage by just looking at the traditional outfit worn by his or her friends, she maintained.  

On behalf of the parents, Patton thanked the administrator, principal and teachers of the school for their selfless contributions rendered towards the progress and all round development of the children.  

Chairperson of School Board, Abeny Ezung declared holiday for the school on October 30 on account of the successful Parents’ Day celebration. Meanwhile, principal of the school, Malin, said that education is a triangular system involving parents, teachers and students for a student to grow and make them responsible citizens.  

School Board member, Ate Kapfo also spoke on the occasion.  

Dances, skits, cultural attire show, guitar ensemble, rendition by school choir marked the celebration.
