Eastern Nagaland Selected Teachers reaffirms

Dimapur, October 24 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Selected GT/PT Association 2012 held a joint meeting on October 22 at CKS Hall, H.Q Tuensang Town with all the 4 (Four) Apex Tribal Council Viz. Chang Khulei  Setshang (CKS), Yimchunger Tribal Council (YTC), Khiamniungan Tribal Council (KTC), United Sangtam Likhum Bumji (USLB), Yimchunger Union Tuensang Town (YUTT) and the various Students’ Union of Tuensang Town 

The meeting was held to discuss thoroughly the ongoing agitation regarding the delayed issuing of Appointment Orders of the recently declared Teachers’ Recruitment Drive 2012. The student organizations of the four tribes also made it clear to the Government that the indefinite agitation was peaceful and cannot to termed as illegal and asked the Government to withdrew the baseless allegation against the agitators.

In the meeting, the President of Chang Khulei Setshang  (CKS) highlighted the historical facts as a correlation to the issues pertaining to the Recruitment drive and neglect of Eastern Nagaland Districts in Employment Sector by the successive State Government. He also highlighted the rights of Eastern Nagaland as per the Indian Constitution under Article 371(2) clause (D) and its ramification for the growth of the future Unemployed Youths of Eastern Nagaland Districts.

The meeting also witnessed words of encouragement from all the 4 (Four) Apex Tribal Council under  ENPO as mark of full support to the aggrieved selected candidates to move forward with positive principles and assured co-operation towards the ongoing agitation even in the upcoming phase of agitation. 

The Tribal Councils of ENPO had voiced strong dismay at the lackadaisical attitude of the State Government and the Department concerned for not addressing the grievances of the unemployed youths of Eastern Nagaland and appealed that timely intervention should be initiated by the State Government before the matter goes beyond repair so as not to deprive the selected Candidates through open Recruitment Drive.

The House was also enlightened by the words of the General Secretary, ENSF Changsang  Soted who highlighted that the Federation is taking all efforts and steps towards issuing of appointment order to the selected candidates at the earliest. He voiced that since the Teachers’ Recruitment Drive 2012 being the core issue of the ENSF is strongly behind the Agitating aggrieved selected Teachers and therefore is tirelessly working to solve the matter amicably to the State Government on behalf of the aggrieved agitating Teachers’.

Further, the Association states that the second Phase of agitation will commence from 25th of Oct. 2012 till the matter is solved. In addition to that, the Eastern Nagaland selected GT/PT Association 2012 in its meeting resolved and asked all the district’s Administrative Officers, DEO and SDEO to be in station on or before the date second phase of agitation.  The Convener and all the Co-Convener and secretaries of all the 4 (Four) districts will have a joint meeting on 24th Oct. 2012 for the upcoming phase of agitation.
