
DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 22 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Dimapur (ENPUD) will stage a silent procession in Dimapur on September 25, protesting the rape of a minor girl by Tinulepdang Amer of Changki village.
The procession will start at Clock Tower (City Tower) junction at 9:00am and proceed to District & Session Judge Nagaland where it will culminate by submitting a memorandum to the judge.
A press release issued by A Neangba Konyak, President, ENPUD has requested all members of ENPUD, ENSUD, ENWUD, ENPU-Chumukedima, ENPU-Medziphema ENPU-Diphupar A & B and all concerned citizen of Dimapur to assemble at Clock Tower junction and participate without fail.
ENPUD has also requested all concerned schools and colleges in Dimapur to grant leave to students from Class VIII and above belonging to Eastern Nagaland on the proposed day.
In a separate note, the Sangtam Students’ Union Dimapur has condemned the “sodomic act” upon the minor girl by the accused government servant, calling for “befitting punishment” by law enforcing agencies.
