Kohima, July 1 (MExN): The Election Commission of India (ECI) has launched ECINET, a unified digital platform that brings a range of electoral services to citizens through a single web portal and mobile application.
According to a State DIPR, the platform is accessible via the ECINET web portal and mobile app, available on both Android and iOS devices.
ECINET enables electors to access services such as online voter registration, correction of electoral roll entries, change of residence, replacement of Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) and registration of overseas electors. Users can also track the status of their applications, search electoral details, download e-EPICs and access contact information of electoral officers.
The platform also supports the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, allowing electors to fill and submit Enumeration Forms online and verify whether their names are included in the electoral roll prepared during the last Special Intensive Revision.
To improve citizen engagement, ECINET features a "Book a Call with BLO" option, enabling electors to connect directly with their respective Booth Level Officers (BLOs) for assistance on electoral matters.
In addition, the platform allows citizens to file appeals against decisions of Electoral Registration Officers, where applicable, and is integrated with the National Grievance Redressal System, enabling users to lodge complaints, submit suggestions and track grievances online.
The ECI said the integration of multiple electoral services into a single digital platform is aimed at improving accessibility, efficiency, transparency and citizen participation. Citizens have been encouraged to download the ECINET app and make use of its services for a hassle-free electoral experience.
