Dignitaries with Mr Fresher 2026 and Ms Fresher 2026 of Don Bosco College Kohima during 12th Freshers’ Day on June 20.
Kohima, June 20 (MExN): Don Bosco College, Kohima (DBCK) observed its 12th Freshers’ Day on June 20, with Dr Alice K Vizo (IPoS), Director of Postal Services, Nagaland, as the special invitee. Addressing the gathering, Dr Vizo called upon the freshers to approach college life with purpose, discipline, and hope, stressing that education transcends academic degrees to encompass character-building, resilience, and societal service.
Success, she asserted, is not effortless but demands persistence, consistency, and daily dedication. She underscored the importance of time management, digital accountability, and staying rooted in one’s cultural identity while navigating a rapidly evolving world.
Drawing on her tenure in public service, Dr Vizo motivated the students to nurture curiosity, integrity, and compassion, positioning themselves as future leaders of Nagaland and the nation.
On behalf of the Staff, Dr Imtinaro Longkumer, Assistant Professor, Department of Education, called upon the new students to uphold the principles to grow up and show and make the most of the opportunities at DBCK. On behalf of Freshers, Gensing Humtsoe, BA 1st Semester, Department of Political Science, expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and shared the aspirations representing the new batch.
N Bin Yemjong and Kesho Kent were crowned Mr Fresher 2026 and Ms Fresher 2026 title respectively.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by Bendang Jamir Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science. The programme was chaired by Neilanuo Sachu, BA 5th Semester, Department of History, while Fr Dr Tious Varghese, SDB Principal, Don Bosco College, Kohima invoked God’s blessings. DBCK Music Club presented special number while Mhalesienuo Shunyu, Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology proposed vote of thanks.
