Dimapur, May 30 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) on Monday stated that its efforts and concerns for Naga national unity has been neglected and ignored time and again.
“The Government of India, the concerned organisations and the State Government are only taking into account the NSCN (IM) and the NNPGs for solution while completely sidelining and ignoring the rest of the seven, eight Naga National Political Groups,” it stated in a press release issued through its Information & Publicity Wing.
This, it said, “shows complete disregard and the biased design of how the Naga political issue is being dealt with which indicates divide and rule policy.”
Stating that it was a urgent and critical stage, the NNC (Parent Body) under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimkhiung and V Nagi, appealed to all those political groups which has been “neglected and excluded from the talk for political solution/settlement to unite effectively and stand together to defend and protect our Naga national freedom since the NNPGs Group led by Kitovi Zhimomi is ready to sign the solution of only Nagas of Nagaland, and the NSCN (IM) speaks only for their Yehzabo of Socialist Constitution.” Such solutions, it maintained, would not be acceptable in reality nor would the Naga people as a whole accept this.
“The NNC as the Parent Body will always stand and speak for the true interest of the Naga people as a whole, and we also appeal to those who stand true to the Naga cause to speak out and support the true stand for the best interest of the whole and all Naga people and the Homeland,” it maintained.
