EGON hosts Miss Dimapur curtain raiser prog

The curtain raiser programme for Miss Dimapur was held at Hotel Acacia on July 30.

Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): The curtain raiser programme for Miss Dimapur was held on Saturday, at Hotel Acacia, with DGP Prison, Rupin Sharma, as the special guest. 

Addressing the gathering, the DGP stated that Nagaland was a place filled with people who were in love with their cultures. In this, he however maintained that in a world which was immensely connected with each other, he opined that Naga cultural shawls and costumes could be used for the economic development of the Nagas. He also appealed that Naga uniqueness should not be confined, stated a press release issued by the EGON Media Cell. 

It can be noted that team EGON would be embarking on a journey where the team would be marketing the products made by inmates, such as sanitary pads, handicrafts, etc. 

Highlights of the programme included announcement of Miss Personality and Miss Talent, which were won by contestant Jine Singh and Lihyeih T Konyak, contestant number 2 and 12 respectively. 

A talent round was also conducted, whereby the top-5 contestants pre-selected by the EGON team, showcased their talents, which comprised of contemporary and bollywood dances, martial arts, included indigenous weaving, etc. 

A Modern Ethnic round was also conducted, which was judged by president, Nagaland Designers Association, Ruso Rhi. The winners of this round would be announced on the finale of Miss Dimapur. 

A Fashion Show was also conducted with three rounds, with contestants wearing costumes from Aviiam Multi Clothing Outlet, Ni Hao fashion, and EGON Selfie round.

The programme was hosted by Imli Lee and Nise Meruno and words of acknowledgement delivered by Watila Subbha. Special numbers were also delivered by students from Tetseo College.
