Dimapur, March 3 (MExN): The Election Commission of India (ECI) officials Anuj Jaipuriar, ECI Secretary, and two other officers called on the Governor of Nagaland Nikhil Kumar, and personally handed over a copy of the Election Commission of India notification constituting the new Legislative Assembly in the State of Nagaland. The officials were accompanied by Jan-e-Alam, Chief Election Officer, Nagaland, V. Shashank Shekhar, Commissioner and Secretary to Governor and N. Moa Aier, Joint Chief Election Officer in the meeting.
The press release issued by Shashank Shekhar stated that earlier the Governor issued an order under sub-clause (b) of clause (2) of Article174 read with clause (1) of Article 172 of the Constitution dissolving the Eleventh Legislative Assembly.
