Electors asked to produce EPIC

Mokokchung, April 30 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & Returning Officer Mokokchung, Lithrongla G. Chishi informed all electors who have been issued with Elector’s Photo Identity Card (EPIC) to produce the same for establishing their identity at the time of casting his/her vote in the ensuing bye-election to 26-Aonglenden A/C. If any elector fails to produce EPIC, such electors shall have to produce any one of the following documents for establishing their identity.
The election Commission has reiterated that though the names are included in the electoral roll, the voters has to establish the identity through any one of the documents at the time of casting his/her vote.
The alternative documents for establishing identity at polling station are – Passports, Driving licenses, Income Tax (PAN) Cards, Service Identity Cards, Bank Pass Books, Property documents such as Pattas, Registered deeds etc, ST/SC/OBC Certificates, Pension Documents, Freedom Fighter Identity Cards, Arm licenses, certificate of physical handicap, Indigenous certificate, permanent resident certificate birth certificate/Baptismal certificate/marriage certificate of Church, Job cards issued by the RD department, Student Identity Cards issued by Schools and Colleges, BPL Ration Cards and Electricity/Water Supply Bills paid.
The RO Mokokchung above standing instruction of the election commission should be strictly followed during the bye-election.
