Electrical contractors reaffirm resolutions

Dimapur, May 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Electrical Contractors’ Union (NECU) has reaffirmed its resolution that no electrical installation work including wiring and re-wiring shall be allowed to unauthorized party as per Indian Electrical Acts & Rules.

Also any contractors found leasing out or allowed to use their license by unauthorised party to undertake electrical installation work shall be strictly dealt with as per the Nagaland Electrical Licensing Regulation-2005. The Union during its election of office bearers cum general election on May 13 at Kohima reminded all the electrical division not to provide service connection or power supply connection to any government or private premises unless the electrification works are done by authorized firm and test certificates are issued by the concerned firm that execute the work.

Erring officials shall be dealt with as per the government standing order No. PWR/W-19/2003 dt.-12th Sept. ’07. NECU general secretary, Vizovolie Nyekha in a press release informed that the executive body will discuss the pros and cons and its legality of the government order in supersession of government order No-PW/EST/83/67 dt-31-01-73 and No. Power/EST/38/89 dt 02-07-97 with the Union legal advisor. The Union also informed that the legal advisor service shall be extended for another year. During the meeting, the house elected Kevichulie Chadi, M/s. Strides Electrical & Electronic, Kohima as president, H Thong, M/s. Imato Electricals and Vipiho Rhetso, M/s Electricals & Electronics as vice president. Sato Sophie, M/s. North East Electricals and Shikato Rotokha M/s. Sun Electricals have been elected as treasurer and advisor respectively.
