Employees in Manipur demand 7th Pay Commission implementation

IMPHAL, OCTOBER 26 (NNN): Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Union Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees Organisation (AMGEO) has demanded the implementation of 7th Pay Commission in the State. In this connection, a 20-member delegation of AMTUC and AMGEO constituted from various district government employees met Chief Minister, N Biren Singh today at CM's Secretariat in Imphal.   The JAC submitted a reminder to the Chief Minister which included 20 charters of demand “for the well-being” of the Government employee. The main point in the charters of demand is the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission.   After meeting the Chief Minister, JAC president Advocate Khaidem Mani told media person that the Chief Minister assured them to take up all possible steps within three months to implement the 7th Pay Commission. According to Khaidem Mani, the Chief Minister also expressed the Government desire to implement this 7th Pay Commission. However, due to bad finance condition the Government is taking more time to implement the 7th Pay Commission.   The Chief Minister then appealed and sought the supports and helps of the employees to support help for the ‘grand reception’ of the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister who are visiting the State to grace the coming Sangai Festival, according to Khaidem Mani.   JAC secretary general L Biken said that they understood the fact that about Rs 1, 700 crore will be required for the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission by the Government.   He then claimed that the JAC had no connection with the ongoing cease strikes by some government employees.
