Kohima: There has been a positive change in the attitude of the Naga populace towards employment in non-traditional sectors. Nagas are now entering into business and other professional fields, maintained Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio in his Independence Day’s message Monday.
“Many Naga youth have joined the All India services, Central services and the Indian Army and are serving successfully in other parts of the country. All these are indicative of a positive change of attitude in the minds of youngster.
Similarly, a few Naga youth have joined private companies and are doing well outside the state,” Rio said. The Chief Minister also observed that some professionals have also come back to the state and are contributing their newly acquired skill in the State’s IT sector.
“One can find now a number of cyber cafes and computer training centers all over the state,” he said .Adding the people were churning out computer-literate Nagas, who are now getting employment opportunities not only in the government but also in corporate houses.
“It is heartening to note that a few big companies are beginning to show keen interest to invest in Nagaland, which will mean more jobs opportunities to our local youth” Rio observed.
