Dimapur, December 8 (MExN): A one day seminar on ‘Empowerment of Underprivileged through Co-operative’ was organized by NCUI- Co-operative Education Field Project (CEFP), Kohima which was sponsored by NCUI and, three days Leadership Development Program (LDP) sponsored by Institute of Co-operative management (ICM) was held from December 6-8 at the RCS conference hall. Speaking at the occasion, chief guest, M. Imtila Jamir, Registrar of the Co-operative Societies, Nagaland exhorted the participants to be more active in various fields especially in social and economic development.
She challenged the women to come forward and exercise their powers and talents as they are the backbone of the society. She also requested the ICM Imphal to conduct some other programmes in Nagaland in the near future. Dr. K H Somarendo, faculty member at IMC who also spoke at the function, highlighted some of the activities taken up by the IMC Imphal for Nagaland, Mizoram and Imphal.
