Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The state government have approved for enhancement of World War II veteran pension from Rs. 300 per month to Rs. 500 with effect from 2005-06. An amount of Rs. 12, 78,000 will be disbursed during April/May in this regard, according to an available source.
During the period under report, 10 cases of outstanding service and family pensions have been settled. An amount of Rs. 75, 900 was granted by the Army Headquarters to 26 ex-servicemen and widows from Kohima, Zunheboto district, living in distress conditions, through the Assam Rifles/Army units.
Another amount of Rs. 2, 30, 669 was granted by the Kendriya Sainik Board to 12 ex-servicemen and widows living in distress conditions.
