The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) conducted the 2nd day of National Social Work Week on August 16.

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 16 (MExN): The North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) conducted the 2nd day of National Social Work Week on August 16 as directed by National Professional Social workers in India (NAPSWI).
The program was conducted at Bishop Abraham Memorial Hall, NEISSR on the theme “School Social Work: Opportunities, Challenges and issues,” a press release stated.
Highlight of the event was the presentation by Dr Riche, Assistant Professor, Tetso College who offered valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges in school social work.
Dr Riche dwelt on the need to enhance the impact of social work in schools by integrating evidence-based practices, fostering strong community partnership and empowering social workers to better support students and navigate the complexities of the role effectively. He also encouraged the students to inculcate inclusivity and diversity to grow with positive values as professional social workers.
Hantsula, BSW SEM V, Assistant Statistical Secretary, SCSC, NEISSR moderated the program and Chichuni, BSW SEM V invoked God’s blessing. Tsukhari Florance, BSW SEM V, Information and Publicity Secretary highlighted the significance of the week’s theme, followed by a special musical performance by Sotomong, MSW SEM III.
Vote of thanks was pronounced by Phongam, BSW 5th Semester. He expressed his gratitude to the resource person and all the participants for their involvement and support.
