Enigmatic School Education

Something can never be left alone in the School Education Department. Lately, the regularization of various teaching post was announced by the Govt. and orders issued from the Directorate. Loopholes couldn’t be averted as always it is the so called “Cradle of Education”. The Commissioner, The Principal Director nor the Directors had no idea about what was going on during the issue of regularization order or should we take it as ignored or do the Department need an additional Director to mane such activities and let the other Directors attend Inaugural Functions or let the Dual Charger PD attend his duty at the Secretariat.

Most of us teachers were complaining about the collection of fees charged on each and every teacher for the regularization order but no one had the courage to raise his/her voice as we know that we Nagas are mute abiding Citizens. The step taken by the self elected self styled members is an infringement of the constitutional Right of a person. We may attend or may not attend the uncalled agitation as we have our right to freedom of choice whether to follow your leadership or go against the Govt. by ourselves. You are not authorized to fine the members or collect fees without the permission of the Head of their institution. So, let’s called it as permission granted by the PD or the Director. Was the fine collected to cover up the charges for those teachers who were thrashed by the Police or for those hospitalized? I don’t think so? Since, you were running berserk when the police started “Lathi Charging”. The Agitation called by the self styled leaders/boozers of the association was uncalled so most of the teachers didn’t turn up. The case for regularization was supposed to be taken up for approval at the Cabinet Meeting and not from the Directorate nor at the Govt. Level.

Coming to the point again, a question on the Department. Don’t the Department have enough staff to function that the orders were issued by the teaching staff. Each and every officer and staff went away grumbling but no voice raised against it though they were authorized. Were you afraid of another agitation or commotion? Haven’t you any idea how most of the teachers come from far flung places like Noklak and Kiphire? How they might have been struck on realizing that fines of `. 1000 for absenting a day during the agitation and a fee of `. 150 or `. 200 is collected from them. I would like to question the Commissioner, The Principal Director and the two titular Director on what ground they were allowed to collect the fines or why they were allowed to issue the orders along with your staff?  For what purpose the fee was collected? Where the fees collected have been pooled? Were your staff sitting with them involved in the collection of the fine for a share? Was the fee of `. 200 collected for the three copies Xeroxed issued by the office?

I would like to request the Principal Director to initiate an inquiry into the issue and booked all the culprits involved including all officials in the Directorate level. Let not issue like this defame the name of the Department. Collection of funds practiced by anti-social elements cannot be practiced by some absenting/ drunken teachers who never attend schools in the guise of association works. Fund drives never seems to be stopping in the Department with the initiation by the Hindi Examination party.
