DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 15 (MExN): An organization called the Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) has opposed any move of the NSCN (IM) to include the region of Tirap, Changlang and Longding (TCL) under the Framework Agreement.
According to an “urgent message” issued by the ENNG to the people of TCL, a copy of which was made available to the media, it maintained that if there has to be a solution to the vexed Naga political issue, it has to be a “full-fledged sovereign nation for the entire Nagas and no less than that.” The ENNG said it will not accept Pan-Naga and shared sovereignty as reportedly proposed by the NSCN (IM) or even what it termed as “Supra-State.”
The ENNG said they are expressing this concern in the wake of the endeavors of the Tirap Changlang Longding People's Forum (TCL PeF) and its committee members to amass public consensus in the districts of TCL with regard to the Framework Agreement between the NSCN (IM) and the Government of India (GoI).
It stated that despite all the buzz and hearsay about the ongoing Indo-Naga solution, the general public of TCL too are being kept in the dark and has less or no knowledge about the Framework Agreement as its contents has been kept a well guarded secret.
“Neither the NSCN (IM) nor the GoI has been transparent enough on this issue. And till date both the parties refuses to disclose anything. Now, for that matter, does it even remotely makes sense to bring out a solution or discuss or debate to say the least about an issue which is kept secret from us and which we know nothing about,” it queried.
The ENNG has therefore appealed to the Government of India and other International organisations not to endorse any demands made by the NSCN (IM) in regard to the territorial integrity of TCL.
