Dimapur, April 23 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland National Workers Association (ENNWA) of GPRN/NSCN (UNIFICATION) has strongly opposed what it termed as the breach of ENNWA nomenclature by the N Kitovi Zhimomi-led group.
This comes after a press release issued by the ‘new’ ENNWA office bearers, led by T Yamthong as Chairman and F Pongba Konyak as Secretary, among others, conveyed allegiance to the leadership of President ‘Maj’ (Retd) R.M. Lotha and Ato Kilonser N Kitovi.
A rejoinder from the ENNWA Convener Yimto Yimkhiung, however, pointed out that the Association was formed in the year 2011 under the leadership of Gen. (Retd.) M. Neokpao Konyak, the then Commander-in-Chief of the Naga Army, when all Eastern Naga national workers came together under the banner of Naga Unification.
Yamthong and Pongba were neither members nor recognised by the Association since the inception of the ENNWA office, and have no right to interfere with its resolutions, it added.
The ENNWA also termed them as “habitual defectors” and urged them not to mislead the Eastern Nagas in general and their comrades in particular.
As per the rejoinder, National workers from Eastern Naga areas in NSCN (IM) use the nomenclature Eastern Naga National Workers’ Union (ENNWU), and likewise, the “so-called Eastern Naga national workers” may use a different nomenclature other than ENNWA in any other groups in order to recognise their own revolutionary government.
