Kohima, March 26 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has appealed to the Nagaland Government to ensure that the contents of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed on February 5, 2026 are fully reflected in the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) Bill, 2026.

In a representation addressed to the Chief Minister, ENPO stated that it appreciates the State Government for introducing the FNTA Bill, 2026 on the floor of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly on March 26. However, it expressed concern that “some contents of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed between the Government of India, State Government and ENPO on February 5 at New Delhi were found to have been omitted/changed.”

The organisation urged the government to “kindly review the contents of the introduced Bill to ensure that the contents of the MoA are duly reflected without any dilution while passing the said Bill on 27th of March 2026.”

The ENPO further conveyed its expectation that the State Government would take necessary steps to uphold the provisions of the agreement during the legislative process.

Copies of the representation were also marked to the Speaker of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly and the Union Home Secretary for information and necessary action.
