TUENSANG, MARCH 30 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Student’s Federation (ENSF) through a press release issued by the President Chillio Khiamniungan has submitted a representation to the Senior Advisor (SP) NE of Planning Commission, New Delhi on the review of BRGF scheme and inclusion of Longleng and Kiphire thereof. While applauding and appreciating the sincere effort to bring infrastructural development to the most backward areas of Nagaland, the President stated that there seemed to be apparent and crucial digression on the implementation and coverage of the scheme which was to cover Mon, Tuensang and Wokha only, whereas, Kiphire and Longleng, the two remotest and backward districts, which fell within the periphery of DUDA, were excluded from the BRGF programme.
The representation also brought to light in this connection that Wokha was not a Backward District of Nagaland and that the inclusion of Wokha as a beneficiary of the said scheme had been made without the knowledge of DUDA (Department of Under Developed Area) of Nagaland. It further went on to state that the districts of Longleng and Kiphire were located in the areas bordering Myanmar and therefore the ENPO while placing faith in a proactive mission, requested the Senior Advisor to include Kiphire and Longleng under BRGF Scheme else the lofty mission would be only half done.
