Dimapur, September 5 (MExN): Leaders of the Eastern Naga Students’ Association (ENSA) have met with five Naga legislators of the Myanmar government including managing director Shwe Naung Yan Com on September 3, in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The discussions that followed focused mainly on infrastructural development in the first phase and human resources, social, development in the ‘Naga homeland.’
The meeting was ‘cordial, responsive and positive,’ the ENSA informed today. Both the sides agreed to form an NGO called “Naga People Development Front” (NPDF) which would deal with all foreign sanctions and firms related to development of the Naga areas.
“We realized that to wait upon the government alone may take some extra time for the Nagas in particular. Therefore, we expedite the formation of NGO (NPDF) in order to get connect the outside world through which every mission minded and like towards Nagas in Myanmar can come in to contact,” ENSA vice president Mankhat Konyak and general secretary Y. Khomong Khiamnungan said in a press release.
The ENSA is grateful to the Naga legislators for their time “even in the midst of hectic parliament session and their wisdom towards Naga people development.”
