ENSCU walks out of meeting with govt

To initiate poster campaign from December 1

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 30 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland College Students' Union (ENCSU) today walked out from the meeting convened by the Secretary of Higher & Technical Education.

A press note from the ENCSU informed that this occurred as the department was not able to meet the demands of the union regarding the scholarship disbursement issue, and “it has only come to light about the manipulation in the system.”

The union stated that it was not in a position to accept the presentation of the department. “The presentation was nothing new but just same lame excuses that have been published time and again by the Department in the print media. The most amazing was that the department only tried to clarify the admission of the cabinet about the misuse of scholarship and setting up of SIT,” it added.

The ENCSU further informed that it would resume agitation which was temporarily suspended. As part of the protest, a poster campaign will commence from December 1. In this, the ENCSU asked students to join the protest and extend full cooperation. It further appealed to various organizations and unions to understand the situation.
