ENSUB celebrates 15th annual freshers meet

Dimapur, October 16 (MExN): Eastern Nagaland Students’ Union Bangalore (ENSUB) celebrated its 15th annual freshers meet with the theme “think globally act locally” on October 15 at United Theological College, Bangalore. 


MLA & Chairman DPDB, Longleng BS Nganlang who graced the function shared about the importance of Union for Nagas residing in Bangalore. While speaking about opportunities for students in modern world and urged not to be driven away by short routes to gain success, Nganlang said, “try to work hard and learn the best you can and inherit good things which can be applied to our society.”


He summed up by saying “If you are fully equipped with knowledge, you can bring the change in our society.”


Earlier, the event started with Yimchunger folk song followed by welcome speech from President of ENSUB –Pongkhyuse Sangtam, appreciation note by Agin, Vice President, ENSUB, exhortation from Akho, President, NEWAK and Athok, ENFB Advisor,Enumeration by Manpa Konyak, Committee member, ENFB. A special prayer for the freshers was led by Rev. Seiboi Kipgen, Pastor, Kuki Worship Service Bangalore. Yongkonglanga Chang delivered the speech on behalf of freshers.


Sangkhamong Chai and Lidiya Buchemwere crowned the Mr. and Ms. Freshers’ 2018, respectively. 
The tribal attire display showcased the rich culture and tradition of Eastern Nagas. The event concluded with vote of thanks delivered by Rhakiumong, Executive Chairman, ENSUB.


The freshers’ meet is celebrated every year to welcome new members from Eastern Naga community, arrived in Bangalore for further education and seeking job opportunities, stated a press release issued by David Chang, General Secretary, ENSUB.
