MSME Pavilion at Nagaland International Trade Expo inaugurated

At the ongoing Nagaland International Trade Expo (NITEX) held at Agri Expo Centre, 4th Mile, Dimapur, an MSME Pavilion was inaugurated today in the presence of PB Acharya, Governor of Nagaland.
The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India has formulated a Scheme of Creating a National Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Hub (NSSH) with objectives as envisaged in the Union Budget Speech 2016-17 with an outlay of Rs 490 crore during the next four financial years (2016-20). This Hub will provide professional support to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs to fulfill the obligations under the Central Government procurement policy 2012, adopt global best practices and leverage the Stand Up India initiative.
The MSME Pavilion was thus launched to help create awareness on this programme for local entrepreneurs and general public in Nagaland.
Speaking at the awareness programme held at the Agri Expo Centre Auditorium, PB Acharya, Governor of Nagaland who was the chief guest stated, “According to me, today is a great day and this is a fine function. I congratulate the organizers and MSME for bringing together so many entrepreneurs from different North East states.” He also stated that the need of the hour is entrepreneurship because the days of government job has gone and remarked, “If India has to stand up, if Nagaland has to stand up, entrepreneurs should come up with more and more skills and create wealth.”
He also cited that we have to remember Dr.B.R. Ambedkar, as we celebrate the 125th Birth Anniversary, a great man who gave encouragement for downtrodden people. He also encouraged the entrepreneurs present at the programme stating, “Today we are here to create a hub for entrepreneurs. You can be the pillars of society to strengthen it economically. Entrepreneurs have a very important role to make Nagaland and India a great vision in the world.”
Tali Longchar, Deputy Director Incharge, Br. MSME-DI Dimapur delivered the welcome address followed by a brief about the programme by J.K Mahanta, Chief General Manager, NSIC, Ltd.
S.K. Dhumal, GM NABARD, Dimapur also spoke as Guest of Honour at the programme. Vote of thanks was delivered by Peter Thawangneichina, Manager NSIC, Ltd Guwahati. This was followed by technical session by Peter Thawangneichina, Manager NSIC, Ltd Guwahati.
After the awareness programme concluded, PB Acharya officially inaugurated the MSME pavilion and later visited the stalls and interacted with the entrepreneurs. The Pavilion is hosing various micro and small scale enterprises selling and showcasing handloom, agri, handmade, food items, floral and decorative products and many more.
