Nagaland’s youth resources & sports advisor Er Zale Neikha today flagged off the Freedom Rider Biker’s Rally at 2nd World War Museum, Naga Heritage Village Kisama for the onwards journey of the riders to Imphal, Manipur.
The riders arrived Kohima on October 8.
Addressing the bikers, Er Neikha lauded the courageous efforts of the riders for undertaking the 75-day journey to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and spread awareness about fitness.
Lauding the riders for covering around 8000 km so far, he extended best wishes to them for their next journey to cover another 8000 kms across the country.
He was optimistic that they will the propagate message of prosperous India to greater heights.
Er. Neikha also hoped that they will also experience and propagate the diverse culture of the different people.
Jakhama Youth Organisation performed cultural dance in honor of the riders.
Nagaland’s Youth Resources & Sports secretary Wezope Kenye IAS, YR&S Additional Secretary Anthony Ngullie, YR&S director Akumla Chuba, YRS Additional Director Megolhou Dolie and other dignitaries also present at the flagging off service.
The purpose of the expedition is to celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by disseminating the message of “Fitness for all” and leveraging the theme "Fitness Ki Dose Aadha Ghanta Roz".
The expedition envisaged covering approximately 21,000 km and will pass through 34 states/ union territories.
75 bikers across the country are part of this rally and they will be visiting 75 iconic locations in this pan-India bike ride to mark Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and Fit India Mission.
Mentionably, the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports Government of India in collaboration with the All India Motorbike Expedition (AIME) has started this three-month-long bike ride all over the country.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off this expedition from New Delhi in the second week of September 2022.
