Noklak, November 1 (MExN): Award distribution ceremony of the district level of essay competition conducted on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti 2021 on the topic ‘Relevance of Gandhiji's thoughts for building a peaceful and prosperous Nagaland’ organized by Raj Bhavan, Kohima in collaboration with District Administration, Noklak was held at DC’s conference hall, Noklak on November 1.
Speaking on the occasion, a DIPR report said, the Deputy Commissioner Noklak, Hiazu Meru stated that the values and principles of Gandhiji's thoughts are still relevant to us and advised the gathering to practice it. Congratulating the winners, he mentioned that he was highly impressed with the contents and encouraged to hold on the values of the Gandhiji's thoughts.
Meru thanked all the participants for participating in the essay competition and also the school authorities for taking the initiative for the competition. The DC also handed over the certificates and cash prizes to the winners.
K Phunyang, winner of essay competition, Government Higher Secondary School, Noklak and P Peshie, winner of essay competition Christian High School, Noklak also spoke a during the occasion.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by SDO (Civil) Noklak, C Phuniang while introduction of awardees &handing of award was done by EAC, Pukha Lam. The programme was attended by government officials, school authorities & students from different institutions and civil societies.
