Kohima, Oct 24 (MExN): The Educated Unemployed Union, Nagaland expressed resentment over the government’s proposal for the “undue promotion of the incumbent Pillai, additional SP (MT) PHQ, MKR to the rank of SP.
Union president K. Wilson Mongzer and secretary press and information Ezanbemo Erui said Pillai joined as a mere constable clerk under DEF Mokokchung in 1971. He was given promotion after promotion superceding hundreds of other senior constables and NCOs. He has always been posted in the posts of his choice and even against non-existing post, the union said.
“From the rank of constable to inspector, he never under went any central promotion test, which is mandatory as per service promotion rules,” the union said.
The Union also stated that many of the DSPs of 1998 batch who qualified through NPSC are yet to be promoted, adding Pillai “is yet to complete two years of service as officiating additional SP.”
Further, the union said it cannot tolerate “such favouritism and injustice of the government and must immediately withdraw the said proposal and take remedial steps to prevent such injustice in the future.”
