Every Naga is a stakeholder in the Naga political issue: OSTD

Dimapur, May 29 (MExN): The Ongpangkong Senso Telongjem Dimapur (OSTD) on Sunday stated that it was “neither acceptable nor honourable,” for the NSCN (IM) to blame decades of the vexed Naga problems on Dr SC Jamir, especially at a time when the Naga people are desperately longing for a peaceful political solution.

In a press release on Sunday, the OSTD said it was deeply disturbed by the recent accusation and allegations against Dr SC Jamir who hails from Ongpangkong range under Mokokchung District. “It is neither healthy development nor a good sight on the road ahead for an honourable and acceptable solution,” the release stated.

The OSTD said it was of the view that every Naga is a stakeholder in the Naga political issue and a leader in the level of Dr SC Jamir’s stature, on being invited by the Prime Minister and Home Minister of India, has every right to share his personal opinion on Naga issue. In this connection, it voiced support for Ao Senden’s statement on May 22.

Demands justice for hit and run incident

It said that the unidentified driver’s barbaric act and inhuman behaviour which led to the gruesome death of a young innocent soul should be condemned by all sections of the Naga society.
