Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): The Dimapur District Excise raided several liquor joints at Som Bazar area in Signal Bosti, Dimapur on July 12 around 4:30 pm and arrested five people for illegal possession and selling of IMFL.
All the accused identified as Bishu (35), Chingmak (20), Vihoshe (30), Vinno (22), Pramod (41) have been penalized under the relevant section of the NLTP Act 1989, stated a press release from Assistant Commissioner of Excise and Prohibition, S Chanlei Angh.
A total of 101 bottles of assorted IMFL were seized during the raids carried out under the supervision of T Arilong Longkumer, Superintendent of Excise, it added.
In a separate incident, the District Excise personnel manning the Excise check gate at New Field, Dimapur recovered 240 bottles (650 ml) of beer from a Maruti Esteem (WB02T-6872) on July 13 around 12:30 pm. In this connection, one Bonito (30) was arrested.
