An exhibition cricket match was played here today between Ao Students’ Conference XI (AKM) and Superintendent of Police, Mokokchung XI at Imkongmeren Sports Complex where the former defeated the latter by a narrow margin of 4 runs. AKM XI after winning the toss elected to bat first and set a nominal target of 103 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, SP XI put up a resilient fightback after early setbacks but were ultimately restricted to 99 runs in 17.2 overs. Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Rajesh Soundararajan, who witnessed the match along with other officers, did the honours of giving away the prizes and memorabilia to the players and officials.
