Expecting opposition to support your motion is incorrect: Nukhu to Huska

Kohima, March 17 (NEPS): JD (U) MLA Deo Nukhu said the main three points raised by his fellow MLA Huska Sumi to be the basis for moving “No Confidence Motion” against the Nephiu Rio Government was not wrong. Talking to reporters in the Press Room of the Assembly here today, Nukhu pointed out that Huska should not have moved the motion. “Instead he could have put up those points as questions,” he stated. “Because while you are part of the ruling DAN Government and expecting Opposition Congress to support your motion against the ruling DAN Government is something technically incorrect.”

Asked to comment on Huska’s charges that the DAN Government had failed to live up to the pre-poll alliance understanding and on the policy of equi-closeness, Nukhu admitted that the DAN leadership failed on some counts. “But I cannot accept that the DAN’s policy of equi-closeness is a total failure,” he quipped. He felt that any one from the JD (U) legislators should have been inducted while downsizing took place in the spirit of the DAN’s Pre-Poll Alliance. “But this had not happened because of the some problems created within the NFP party,” he said. Asked if they (JD-U) would demand induction of one JD (U) legislator in the next reshuffling, Nukhu said they were not insisting but “justice has to be maintained by the DAN leadership.” “Otherwise, it amounts to be a coalition between the NPF and the BJP only,” he stated.
