DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 2 (MExN): The State government has appointed a fact finding committee to enquire into the incidents of mob violence and vandalisation of properties took place in and around Dimapur and Chumukedima areas on 1st September, 2012. This was stated in a notification issued by the Chief Secretary. The probe team will be headed by NN Walling, Retd Director, General Prisons and Home Guards as Convenor. The other members are KN Ngullie, Retd Commissioner & Secretary, LT Konyak, Retd Secretary to the Government and Wepretso Mero, Secretary, Home, Member Secretary.
The fact finding committee shall make an inquiry with respect to the following matters. These includes the causes and circumstances leading to the incident; the person or group of persons responsible for the incident; whether the incident could have been avoided and how; whether there has been any instance of failure or dereliction of duty on the part of any public servant in connection with these incidents and lastly how such incidence may be avoided in future.
The Committee shall submit its report to the State Government within 30 days from the date of issue of this notification. The necessary secretarial assistance, logistics and transportation including sitting allowance will be provided by the government. The Headquarter of the Committee shall be Dimapur.
