A photography exhibition titled ‘A walk into a fading heritage’ by Donin Yeng, a Travel Photographer from Dimapur was held from August 21 to 22 in Kohima.
The exhibition was held with an objective to bring the people from around the world closer to North East through photography. The essence of the exhibition, Yeng stated, was to pass the rich and diverse heritage to the young and the locals in the NE region who sometimes are not aware of their own heritage.
Asserting that the North East region is unique, where people look alike but are diverse in so many ways, Yeng, who has travelled far and wide in most of the North East states with his latest trip made to Mon, said, “That’s the gem of being a North Easterner.”
Yeng is the founder of Fading Heritage, a Media Production Firm documenting the fading culture of North East Region by means of photography and video documentation. The key area of interest in the documentation works done was to preserve, protect, and promote the festivals of the rich old cultural heritage of the NE Region for the uplift of the culture, people and places.
