Snigdha Mukherjee of St John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur who topped the HSSLC Science Stream by scoring 93.40% believes that her father, who is a Mathematics Teacher has greatly influenced her as a student. “Family is the backbone for me”, she said while expressing that, “no matter what the situation, they just let me be without pressuring me.”
On achieving the top position, she recalled that, “I kept on doing my school work and I had my own study time which I took seriously.” When the exams came, she said, “I dedicated 3-4 hours to studying.” However, “to be honest”, in her words, she never expected to make it as the topper although she hoped to be in the top ten list.
To her school, she said, “I can’t express how much they did for me—my Principal, Vice-Principal, and Teachers.” It may be noted here that St. John Higher Secondary Residential School, Dimapur has produced the Topper No.1 in Science Stream for 3 consecutive years.
Snigdha Mukherjee, who is also the youngest in the family likes to paint and read books. She is currently looking to pursue B.Tech in Computer Science in institutions like VIT Vellore.
Quoting Nelson Mandela, who said, “It always seems impossible, until it's done” she also advised fellow students by saying, “Don't think of the future, just keep going.”
