Chumoukedima, July 31 (MExN): A farewell program in honor of the outgoing Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Chumoukedima, Abhinav Shivam, IAS, was held today at the DPDB Hall, DC Office, Chumoukedima. The event was attended by various officials, staff, and well-wishers who gathered to bid farewell to the outgoing DC and welcome the incoming DC, Polan John, NCS.

In his farewell speech, Abhinav Shivam reflected on his two and a half years of service in Chumoukedima, expressing gratitude for the unwavering support he received from officers and staff during his tenure. He credited the achievements of the district to the collective effort and cooperation of his team, stating that any gaps or failures were his alone as a leader. He expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the love and affection he received from the people of the district, noting that his journey as DC had been deeply fulfilling.

Shivam emphasized that the success of any officer is inherently linked to the efficiency and dedication of their staff. He lauded the coordination among various departments in addressing the district's challenges and encouraged the team to extend the same support to the incoming DC. He highlighted Chumoukedima as a district with immense potential and expressed confidence that it would continue to grow with the contributions of its officers and staff.

The incoming DC, Polan John, NCS, spoke of the high regard in which he holds Abhinav Shivam, praising his competence and leadership in managing a district that was established from scratch. John acknowledged the significant strides made under Shivam's guidance and expressed his eagerness to continue building on the foundation laid by his predecessor. He requested the continued cooperation of the officers and staff as they work together to bring positive changes to Chumoukedima.

James Swu, ADC Medziphema, speaking on behalf of the administrative officers, described the outgoing DC as an efficient and knowledgeable leader who transformed the district from its nascent stage. Swu highlighted that while Chumoukedima will miss Shivam's leadership, the larger Naga community will continue to benefit from his service elsewhere in Nagaland.

The farewell program also featured speeches from various representatives, including P. Kedokhrielie, PA to DC, on behalf of the DBs; Kenneth Zalipu, LDA, on behalf of the DC Office staff; Bodevi Shuya, DAO Chumoukedima, on behalf of the Heads of Departments; and the DCP. A special song was performed by Vibeizono Khro to mark the occasion.

The event was chaired by SDO(C) & RO Chumoukedima, Thejavizo Nakhro, who facilitated the proceedings and ensured a fitting farewell for the outgoing DC.
