College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie organised a one-day farmer-scientist interaction cum technology distribution programme on March 5.

Jalukie, March 8 (MExN): College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, organised a one-day farmer-scientist interaction cum technology distribution programme on March 5 with Dr Namsui Tho, Chief Veterinary Officer, Peren District as special guest.

The event commenced with farmer-scientist interaction session, followed by distribution of agricultural technology and resources to 60 beneficiaries. The beneficiaries received two-week-old vaccinated chicks of the CARI-Devendra and CARI-Nirbheek chicken breeds, along with feed, feeders, and drinkers to support their poultry farming ventures. This initiative was conducted in collaboration with ICAR-CARI, Izzatnagar, under the project titled “Evaluation of CARI-Improved Germplasm and its Popularization” as part of the ICAR NEH Scheme.

Dr Mahak Singh, Senior Scientist from ICAR Medziphema, Nagaland Centre, highlighted the significance of backyard poultry farming in enhancing the livelihoods and economic well-being of poultry farmers. 

Dr Gunjan Das, Professor and Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine, discussed emerging and re-emerging diseases in poultry, providing valuable knowledge to the participants.
