Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): AICRP (VC), Nagaland Centre, SASRD, NU under TSP (Tribal Sub Plan) conducted a farmer’s training on ‘nursery management of vegetable crops’ at adopted village- Hekheshe to highlight the farmers on the importance of nursery management in vegetable production and to make them aware of the benefits and advantages of raising a vegetable nursery.
The inaugural programme was chaired by Dr. Waluniba, Scientist, ICAR-AICRP (VC) and the programme was graced by Dr. S.P Kanaujia, Incharge, ICAR-AICRP (VC), SASRD, NU who also delivered the welcome address. Brief remark was given by Dr. Moakala Changkija, Scientist, ICAR-AICRP (VC) and GB of Hekheshe village. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Moakala Changkija, Scientist, ICAR-AICRP (VC).
After the inaugural function, training on ‘Nursery Management of Vegetable Crops’ was delivered by Dr. Aastik Jha, Scientist, ICAR-AICRP (VC) and also practical demonstration on “Preparation of Nursery beds and its Management” was carried out. The training was attended by 75 farmer participants from Hekheshe village and Tsüma village. During the wrap up session, seeds of different vegetables (cauliflower, cabbage, chilli, brinjal, carrot, palak, fenugreek, coriander, radish and tomato) were distributed to all the participants. The farmers expressed their heartfelt gratitude to AICRP-Vegetable Crops, SASRD: NU for organising such training programme for the farmers.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Waluniba, Dr. Moakala Changkija and Dr. Aastik Jha.
