Father’s Day was celebrated today across Nagaland through the church platform. Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK) celebrated the day by honouring the fathers through message in songs, gift, and prayer for their good health and longevity.
At the morning worship service in commemoration of Father’s Day at CBCK, Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh challenged the fathers to rebuild their home, as home is a place of respect, love and fellowship.
Euro International School, Dimapur celebrated Fathers Day on June 16 with a lot of enthusiasm. A special cricket & tug of war competition was organized for the fathers of all the children of the school, informed a press release from the school principal, Sandeep K Jain. The fathers also participated in a dart game. At the programme, the school principal appreciated the efforts of the faculty members in the preparations for the event.
Members of Dimabang Halali Hosom (Society) Dimapur celebrated Father's Day on June 17 at New Bamunpukhuri. Organised by wives and children of the society members, the programme was chaired by Maihamdi Longmailai. The organizers also presented umbrella as gift to all the society members.[/caption] Speaking on the topic ‘Let us build our home’, he also asked fathers to mend the broken homes and live up to the saying “Home sweet home.”
“The best place for everyone is home,” he said and urged upon the fathers to make their home a congenial place for peace and joy.
He also challenged fathers to strengthen family atmosphere by maintaining strong relationship with wife and children.
“Be a blessed father,” he urged and at the same time asked fathers to adopt positive behavior so as to bring about a happy and healthy family.
The service was led by Jolayi Nienu, while pastoral prayer was pronounced by Rev. Khrotso Mero.
Later, Zhopota Rhakho talked on ‘Building in the fear and favour of God’ at evening worship service. To fear God as found in Deuteronomy 10:12-13, he stated, is imperative.
“Fear of God is motivated by his awesome power which leads to knowing him more fully. It is to share his fellowship, enjoy his blessings and avoid the sad consequences of disobedience,” he said.
To live in the favour of the Lord, we must place ourselves in right relationship with the Lord in our lives, Rhakho added.
