A greater proportion of female students were selected for various medical courses in the last three years compared to their male counterparts in Nagaland, the Nagaland Economic Survey 2023-24 highlighted.
According to UDISE+ (Unified District Information System for Education Plus), the survey noted that during 2021-22, 119 female candidates were selected for medical and allied courses, compared to 69 male candidates.
In 2022-23, 130 females were selected against 73 males.
Further, in 2023-24, female students received the major share, with 193 seats allotted to them compared to 111 for males.
