Dimapur, July 18 (MExN): The Naga Army, Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has expressed grief over the demise of Major Sumping of Nkou Village, who passed away on July 17. Late Sumping was the “3rd Bn. Brigade, Western Command, Naga Army”; he joined the service on October 23, 1963 and faithfully served the nation till his last breath, stated a condolence note from Gen Tavecho Lala, Commander-in-chief, Naga Army, FGN.
“His untimely death was a great loss for the Naga Army, the vacuum created by him will be difficult to fill up. Yet his true sacrifice for the Naga Nation shall always remain alive in the history of the Nation,” he said. “May the Almighty God grant peace and solace to the bereaved family members and relatives at this hour of grief.”
