Dimapur, June 5 (MExN): The FGN has denied any hand in the unabated extortion and illegal “tax” being levied on trucks entering Nagaland. The local media had today covered “tax” being exacted from carriers by Naga, Karbi Anglong and Kuki underground groups in Dimapur. A note from “asst. secretary” of the FGN took note of the June 5 news item on the extortion. “The NNC/FGN would like to clarify that it is the work of imposters and that it has no hands on such activities,” it stated simply.
