Financial inclusion literacy camp held at Kiphire

Kiphire, October 12 (MExN): A Financial Inclusion Literacy programme funded by NEC Aspirational District programme was held at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall, Kiphire on October 12.

A DIPR report informed that Deputy Commissioner, Kiphire T Wati Aier highlighted about the importance of the camp and informed the public leaders how to avail the schemes.

He mentioned that it is an equal opportunity to be able to access financial services. Any business or individual can access appropriate affordable and timely financial products and services; he said and mentioned that various activities are carried out in the villages by the department of Agriculture, Horticulture, LRD and so on for the benefit of the villagers. Aier said the VDBs should play a vital role in developing the entire village and urged them to be alert in order to avail the benefits because many programmes are there in different departments but the public are not aware of them.

Branch Manager SBI Kiphire highlighted some of the schemes like PMSBY and APY while LDM, SBI Kiphire shared about the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana (PMJJBY) scheme.

Later, ADC Kiphire Rahul Mali stressed on the importance of Aadhaar card and Ujwala service, a scheme of providing free LPG to every woman. He urged the village chairmen and the VDBs to disseminate the message to every woman in the village in order to avail benefits of the Ujwala scheme.

The programme was attended by the village chairmen, VDB secretaries, GBs, Gunburas and village leaders. Vote of thanks was proposed by EAC Kiphire, Chumben Murry, the DIPR report added.
