Mon, September 2 (MExN): The 42 Assam Rifles will conduct firing and explosive practice at the Unit Firing Range, Tactical Headquarters Mon, from September 1 to 30, the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Wennyei Konyak, NCS, has informed.
According to an official notification dated August 31, the practice will be conducted daily from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
The Deputy Commissioner said loud sounds of firing and explosions may be heard in and around Mon Town and adjoining areas during the period. The public has been advised not to panic as the activities are part of routine training.
Residents have also been advised to avoid movement near the firing range and camp during the practice period and to ensure the safety of children and livestock, State DIPR reported.
